"Beginning a Community Dialogue on Eliminating Barriers to the Timely and Effective Treatment for the Severely Mentally Ill"

Presenting: A panel of Family, Consumers, Professionals

We will be discussing some points of entry to the "system of care" (Psych Emergency Services, Jail) as well as some conditions for entry (being a danger to self or others, homelessness, suicidal intention, violent behavior). We are exploring where we are now, how much progress have we made, and what more needs to be done to eliminate barriers to treatment when needed (as opposed to waiting for the ill person to ask for help when they don't think they need it). And what is "effective" treatment? What is recovery and wellness?

Bring your questions and suggestions. Dialogue is a two-way street. And remember we are just beginning.

No General Meeing in October

Next General Meeting will be on November 19th.
